Welcome to Drive-in Worship at Peace Tree

We’re so glad that you’re with us this evening as we continue to journey through the season of Lent together! Please “check in” to Peace Tree UMC on Facebook. Share a photo, update your status, or simply post the hashtag #givevitamins. This month we’re partnering with Vitamin Angels to provide children in developing nations their semi-annual dose of Vitamin A.

I Could Sing of Your Love Forever

VERSE
Over the mountains and the sea
Your river runs with love for me
And I will open up my heart
And let the Healer set me free
I'm happy to be in the truth
And I will daily lift my hands
For I will always sing of when Your love came down

REFRAIN
I could sing of Your love forever (x4)

VERSE

REFRAIN

BRIDGE
Oh, I feel like dancing
It’s foolishness, I know
But when the world has seen the light
They will dance with joy like we’re dancing now

Announcements

  • Tune in to our Facebook Live Bible Study every Wednesday night at 7:30CT to go further with Sunday’s scripture lesson. We’re using Savior: What the Bible Says About the Cross by United Methodist pastor Magrey deVega to guide our study. This upcoming Wednesday, we’ll discuss the Moral Example Theory of Atonement.
  • If you’d like to take a Prayer Walk around the church building after tonight’s worship service, feel free to walk the halls and offer a prayer for our impending UPLIFT renovations. Our bank is in the final stages of property appraisal and the Town of Collierville is undergoing its Code Review. Continue to pray for your church leaders as we turn our church’s vision into a reality!
  • We have several Manna Bags that volunteers have assembled for us. Keep one or several in your car to hand out to those you see in need. Face masks, Upper Room devotionals, and Peace Tree t-shirts are all located at the Welcome Desk for you to take.
  • Mark your calendars for April 4 at 10:00AM for our in-person Easter Sunday service. Weather permitting, we are planning for an Outdoor Worship Service on the East Lawn. Invite your friends using our Facebook event, and learn more about Health & Safety measures by visiting peacetree.church/easter.
  • If you’d like to make a contribution to our ministry or set up a recurring gift to the church, please peacetree.church/give. You can also leave a monetary gift or drop a check into green basket we have up on the stage. Thanks for your generosity!

Nothing But the Blood of Jesus

VERSE 1
What can wash away my sin?

That makes me white as snow
No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

VERSE 2
For my pardon, this I see
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
For my cleansing, this my plea
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

REFRAIN

VERSE 3
Nothing can for sin atone
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
Naught of good that I have done
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

REFRAIN

VERSE 4
This is all my hope and peace
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!
This is all my righteousness
Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

Who Am I?

VERSE 1
Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart?

PRE-CHORUS
Not because of who I am,
But because of what You've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who You are.

CHORUS
I am a flower quickly fading:
Here today and gone tomorrow.
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still You hear me when I'm calling.
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling.
And You've told me who I am.
I am Yours, I am Yours.

VERSE 2
Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again?
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me?

PRE-CHORUS

CHORUS

Bible Reading (1 Corinthians 1:18-25)

For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.” Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, God decided, through the foolishness of our proclamation, to save those who believe. For Jews demand signs and Greeks desire wisdom, but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength.

Message

“The Message of the Cross” Rev. Kristofer Roof ([email protected])

This is Amazing Grace

VERSE 1
Who breaks the power of sin and darkness?
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger?
The King of Glory, the King above all kings
Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
And leaves us breathless in awe and wonder?
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

REFRAIN
This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You laid down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh, Jesus, I sing for
All that You've done for me

VERSE 2
Who brings our chaos back into order?
Who makes the orphan a son and daughter?
The King of Glory, the King of Glory
Who rules the nations with truth and justice
Shines like the sun in all of its brilliance?
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

REFRAIN

BRIDGE
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave (x3)
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy, worthy, worthy!

REFRAIN
